My dog Tux. she's 7yrs old and spoiled rotten. She really went into withdrawal while the kitty was so sick and away at the vet hospital.

My kitty, Lucy, tho he's a male. named by DD#1 when she thot kitty was a female...I guess it should be Desi since the vet kept calling him HER!

No knitting news

I'm afraid that there's no new knitting news this week. I've been out sick mostly all week. I get episodes of vertigo and that's how I spent this week. On Tuesday, I woke with mild dizziness and just took it easy most of the day. But then on Wednesday I felt better and even went to an appointment for a couple of hours in the afternoon. Thursday morning I woke on the Tilt-a-whirl. I couldn't even stand up the room was spinning so badly. I spent the day on the couch and rallied enough to go with dh to dd's softball game. In the late morning we realized that we had a very sick kitty and had to run him to the animal hospital. They kept him until Saturday with a urinary blockage. The vet said a few more hours and we would have lost him. Thankfully he's a lot better today and home again. He's a little slow and very snuggly right now, which he usually is not! He's got medicines and special food for a month until he goes back to recheck. Our dog really missed him while he was gone. Friday, I was unable to see the doc for the vertigo since he's not in on Fridays so I called my nurse at work and she recommended Benadryl or Dramamine for the dizziness. Both have helped me, but the Benadryl also puts me to sleep. so I spent Friday on the couch all day too! Geez, I feel like Sleeping Beauty...too bad I don't think I look much like her! This morning I was unable to stand up again so didn't get to go to work. I really hope this goes away soon. SIL retrieved the kitty for me so that's the bright spot of the day.
Hoping I'm getting off the tilt-a-whirl at the next stop.

Oh, I wish the weekend could last longer!

It's been a wonderful weekend even tho I really haven't done any knitting. Yesterday, I went to DD#2 softball game, tho she isn't playing very much, she's on the high school team. The won quickly in 2 2/3 innings. Scoring 18-3. It was a beautiful day to be outside, the temps were around mid 60's and sunny with a slight breeze. I had a good experience bidding on E-bay and actually won the item that I was bidding on. It's another version of Noah's ark. This one from Annie's Attic. The leaflet is out of print so I was very pleased to win it.
Today in church, I was able to finally pass out 3 of the baby giftie sweaters that I had knit. Only to find out the I need to make at least one more since there's now another new baby on the way to church families. I think the count is now 9 for the year! And there sitting in the pew beside my family was one of my dearest friends. Debbie and I have been friends for over 20 years! I was so sad when they moved away about a year ago. But they have family in the area and come often to visit. Sometimes, I miss seeing them since I often work on Sundays. But today was a bonus and she and her oldest DD were able to come to the house to visit for a few hours. It's just wonderful how you slip right back into conversations with old friends, just like a comfortable sweater, the fit is just right!
And to top it all off, today is Dh and my 24th wedding anniversary. We had a special dinner of pork ribs and salad that we cooked together.
Yes, it's been a great weekend. Oh, if only the weekend could last longer!

MDD scarf #2 Sockotta yarn. Pattern and project knitalong on Knit and Chat.

Fooshies, booties from this neat book, These are for GS, Buster!

Some of the Noah's ark animals, The grey thingy in the front is supposed to be a cat, not a giant mouse!

Running down the Rabbit trail

I haven't been blogging...because I've been busy creating! I finally got some pictures to put here.
I finished another felted bag. I made up the pattern as I knit along. This is using more "spring-like" colors. DD#2 also said it needed a long shoulder strap, so that's what went on this one. Hopefully, she doesn't want to borrow it! I'm pleased to see that she's actually using the one that I made for her a while back. I still have more wool so I may make another for a gift for a friend.
I started to work on a granny square afghan, but I'm using a different layout. Instead of just joining all the squares, I'm joining them into strips then putting the connecting color around the strip then joining the strips to finish it. I'm using Windsor blue for the connecting color.
Also I started to do Noah's Ark animals for my GS, Buster. I've finished a few, 2 lions, an elephant, Noah and Mrs. Noah, 2 chickens, 2 rabbits and a cat that DH says looks like a giant mouse! I'm using several patterns to accomplish the animals. The House of White Birches puts out a nice crochet leaflet with 7 animals, Noah and Mrs and the ark. I'm using an old Needlecraft magazine for some animals like farm type, the cat, cow, horse, pig. I'm also using Jan Messent's Knitted Garden to make smaller animals like the rabbit, squirrel, and birds. Altogether, it will take a while to make, but I'm sure that our little fellow will enjoy all the variety of animals when he's older. He's just 4 1/2 months now, so I have plenty of time to make this for him. I hope to have it done for his 1st birthday in November. That's "IF" I don't go running down any more rabbit trails and get off this project!
